Bug ID: 173204
Summary: I created a PDF in LO writer, and when I uploaded it
to the receiving institution, it was rejected.
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.1.2 release
Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
The institution's expert at Humanity Commons was unable to explain why my PDF
was rejected. I asked Claude AI, and it said the rejection was owning to my
metadata name as applied by LO's PDF-creator program. Claude offered a
workaround involving opening the failed PDF in LO Draw, correcting the metadata
name, and then saving as PDF. That works.
Actual Results:
Create a PDF in LO writer. Send it to Humanity Commons. Try it with another
site. Is this problem specific to Humanity Commons restrictions? It rejects the
characters ggia as metadata.
Expected Results:
Without the work-a-round: failure
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
LO PDF-maker should work "out of the box". I am not experienced enough to reset
my profile. Instead I will reinstall LO and hope it works better.
