Bug ID: 171959
Summary: WRITER: Formatting and underlining at end of line and
PDF conversion
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.6.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I don't understand why this text, once justified and underlined, applies
underlines that extend beyond the edge. I even tried copying and pasting the
text without formatting, but the result doesn't change. The problem occurs both
on Windows 10 and 11—this is with 11. The same thing does NOT happen with
LibreOffice 25.2.7. With all subsequent versions, it does, even with the 25.8
branch (all releases). How can I solve the problem? I need it for work and
can't convert or print documents that are 'imperfect' like this. It also
happened with 26.2.2. :-(
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached document.
2. If necessary, copy it and paste it back as unformatted text.
3. Apply justified alignment and underlining (you can already see that the
underline extends beyond the margin).
4. Convert it to PDF: the result does not change, and the same happens when
printing the document.
Actual Results:
The underline extends beyond the margin.
Expected Results:
The underline should stay within the margin/edge of the justified formatted
text.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
I’d like to use the latest software versions, but this problem prevents me from
doing so, and I end up going back to version 25.2.7, which does not have the
same issue. I would also like to understand whether I can adjust some settings
to fix it.
