Description:
I have used LibreOffice Brochure printing mode for some years now but it
developed a problem about two weeks ago.
I have a document written on US Legal size (8 1/2 x 14 inches) which I print
into brochure mode on US Letter size (8 1/2 x 11 inches) paper. Legal because
its proportions are closer to one-half of Letter (we are not enlightened enough
to use A4 etc series which maintain proportions when halved). This has always
worked fine in the past and looks good in Print Preview.
But recently when printing - let us say four pages as an example - page 1 and 4
print fine on the first side, the printer backs up the paper and reverses it to
print the second side but then spits it out blank putting page 2 and 3 on the
first side of a second sheet of paper, reverses that as if to print the back
and spits that out blank.
Printer is unchanged from what I used in the past, a Canon Pixma MG3620. Tried
updating/changing drivers to no effect. Today I changed the printer for a new
one, same model, with a fresh installation and I get exactly the same problem.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open document in Libreoffice writer
2.Select print, identify pages as multiple of 4, select brochure mode, select
duplex two sided flip on short side, preview shows two pages of document on one
side of paper and next side the next two pages as needed

Actual Results:
Selecting pages 1-4 I get one sheet with pages 1 and 4 on it, sheet reverses
into printer but second side does not get printed and sheet is delivered with
back side blank. Then I get a second sheet with pages 3 and 2 on it with
the back side blank.
Expected Results:
Selecting pages 1-4 I should get one sheet of paper with pages 1 and 4 on one
side, pages 3 and 2 on the back.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
Changed printer and drivers and problem continues indicating a possible
Libreoffice or Ubuntu bug probably from a recent software update
