Bug ID: 167882
Summary: Spellcheck marking not normally displaying under
misspelled word(s)

OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Linguistic

Writer file with some text and one word misspelled
The spellcheck marking and grammar marking is not displaying in Writer in Dark
or Light mode, even though Automatic Spellchecking has the tick mark showing in
Tools menu. (I normally used Dark Mode)
Things I tried:
Asked Community. They helped me find Spellchecking marker colour, but changing
the colour had no effect in light or dark mode, even after restarting Libre
Office.
Spelling... under Tools menu works normally and well. I have seven dictionaries
attached.
Changing the Language setting under Tools from English (Canada), which is what
I use, to English (USA) had no effect nor improvement.
Interestingly, changing the default font did allow the spelling marker squiggle
to appear. My default Paragraph Style is MyText, a personalized subset of
LibreOffice's Default Paragraph style. The default style uses Century
Schoolbook, but MyText uses this following font and configuration:
Linux Libertine:dlig&frac=0&liga&onum=1&pnum=1
Formatting text in Default Paragraph Style did not show the spelling marker,
but formatting the text in LibreOffice's Draft style, which uses Palatino
Linotype as the font, DID show the spelling marker on the test misspelled word.
I could not figure out why it worked, but the other two styles did not.
