@Lewis : You mention in comment 9 that you noticed the problem after updating
to Sonoma.

I have encountered this problem too, but for me, it wasn't just in LibreOffice. 

The misbehaviour extended to more than just LibreOffice, for example, Firefox,
and Chrome, MySQLWorkbench, Thunderbird, etc. As I rarely use any of the Apple
standard GUI applications provided with the OS (other than Finder and Desktop),
I can't say whether my problem extends also to those applications.

frequently have issues with the functionality of their mouse in macOS. Could
this be such a case with your setup, or are all other apps behaving normally
with regard to their mouse interaction ?
