--- Comment #46 from Manu <sp2975-...@yahoo.fr> ---
I see the choice to sort the font list in 2 groups.
Do you confirm each time the user select a new language, then the font list
must be reanalyzed and repopulated? therefore, in a multilanguage document,
each time I open the dialogbox characters, it means the font list is
repopulated according to the language of the selected text? how much time and
delay for the user if the computer is slow? is there a possibility to disable
this "work" if it is too slow or unconfortable?

At this time of the discussion, I don't understand what is a "relax heuristic"
and the "easy part" when the rule is "filtering (or marking) fonts which
clearly don't cover, e.g. are missing letters".
Which rule or source of information define the missing letters or the mandatory
letters? does the user have the choice to include the diacritics? ancient
letters, special numbers, phonetics, and so on? or AT LEAST, can the user just
write in a textbox a list of characters he would like to have in all the fonts
whatever the language and the "easy relax method"?

For example in French, diacritics are needed in minuscules AND majuscules,
while in German, there is a system for writing in capitals without diacritics.
In French a full capital text could be accepted without diacritics (for "low
quality" titles or flyers), but it is not the norm, therefore it is not
expected to see a font without diacritics in the first group.
