1) I think it does a bit more than what I had planned to actually have
in MHD (namely WS-specific logic, vs. just supporting HTTP UPGRADE);

2) AFAIK, it fundamentally does not support HTTPS.  I am looking for an
implementation of websockets that will provide applications the same API
to work with for HTTP and HTTPS connections.  This latter requirement is
what has successfully kept most people from "finishing" their
WS/HTTP-upgrade hacks on MHD.
