And the post here is basically because someone *else* found with submitting a PR for it.
That gets to the other point: why bother? We want to eliminate impediments to contributing; for some, this kind of thing is an impediment. Right now, though I am leaning towards making a release. And then doing a kind of thing where changed files (or all files?) get reformatted. Doing this before a release is too disruptive.
