Well, I don't mean to be rude, and certainly don't want flame wars:). I've been trying to find an answer, but with little result. So I'm just here asking. I mean, it must be after careful thought that the developers make such a decision. That's certainly because of linkage problem, some one said, but what problem? Where in which package (every package with libc dynamically linked I guess) does the problem occur? So I just need some more detailed explanation. I wonder if such explanation could go into the LFS Book, because I think that's the core of LFS - understanding toolchain and dependencies. Well, if that's really a silly question, yell at me:). If I have to find it out myself, can someone tell me where to find it? Sincerely, Charlie
