Hi, I'm working through the latest LFS book and am at chapter 6.13 ( http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/view/stable/chapter06/binutils.html). The compilation on that page does not throw any errors, however when I run the test suite with "make check" one of the tests fails. Specifically:
Running /sources/binutils-2.23.1/gas/testsuite/gas/i386/i386.exp ... FAIL: gas/i386/rept I've looked at the test file in question, but can't see anything obvious, other than that the host is running i686 architecture, while the system is testing i386. Also, the error message is not very descriptive in describing why the test failed. Has anyone seen this problem before? Also, does anyone know what this test does and whether it's safe to ignore?
