That's OK.  I thought you may have modified a LC_ variable.

The first step is to see what the output in Section vii Host System 
Requirements script is.

The next step is to see a log or log fragment of the very first time 
automake/autoconf/aclocal is called.  If the log is large, use 
pastebin.com and give us a link.
