Thanks for quick reply. Please refer the attachment to find
what it was doing when it failed. Let me know if more
information is required. Meanwhile I ll check if binutils was
installed fine.

Hello,
I am using lfs-book-7.0. I get following error while
building glibc-2.14.1 , section-6.9.1 in book ,
make[3]:
/mnt/lfs/tools/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.6.1/../../../../i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ar:
Command not found
Any relevant help would be greatly appreciated.

Please, please send more than just one line of code. While
it sucks that said command is missing, we can't do
anything without seeing more of what it was doing.
Now, my opinion on the problem is that you may have done
something wrong with the binutils installation. Unless one
of the editors says that it's something else.

If there is a problem with the binutils installation, the tests for
glibc will fail because it never completed successfully. That has to be
resolved first. Also, the errors from the test log don't appear to be
serious anyway. I actually skip all testing through the whole book and
the system still works properly :)
