Conversely, the downside to making it *too* easy is that people think they can turn their brain off and just copy-paste their way from start to finish. And while it may sound elitist, LFS isn't for those people - it needs a significant amount of knowledge and skill, and an ongoing willingness to invest time and effort in learning. I'm all for making sure the book is clear and unambiguous. But to use your analogy of training wheels, I think they're a bad idea, giving people an unjustified sense of competence because it looks easy. It's *not* easy, and if people are in over their heads, they need to realise that quickly. Simon.
