Segfaults usually mean you have some issue with your hardware. Try getting Memtest86+ (located at http://www.memtest.org/), and run it for 3 passes. If it errors out, it means you have problems with your memory. Another reason is that your CPU is overheating. If it is, your CPU heatsink is not working, and you should get a new one. Segfaults can also happen when overclocking.
