With an incorrect fstab you should get some notes about (heavily paraphrased) not being able to find ext3 stuff. With an incorrect grub line you should get a list of 'good' drives to pick from. The fact that your're not getting this list would would seem to point in the same direction Simon's been pointing. > Looking back at your fstab post to Bruce. I've attached a file with grep -i ata .config && grep -i scsi .config. Hopefully something in there can shed light on the missing piece of the puzzle. Good luck, Trent.
