 Sure it is.  But, most of the time people can use development BLFS
without problems.

 I know, lots of that is still very old - lack of editors with time
on their hands - and that oldness will itself give problems.  I've
posted in the past about the versions I was using around last
October - apart from security upgrades I haven't upgraded much - and
about kde-4.2.  Deliberately building an old LFS to follow verbatim
what is in a released BLFS isn't a good plan.

 Sorry, lack of time to respond more fully - I'm expecting a service
call from the people formerly known as nthell, and I expect they'll
replace my set top box - from past experience I'll be offline for
several days trying to build a 'supported' system to 'register' the
new box.
