Scratch that. I just did a search on Google and the problem is that the kernel 
does not recognize the filesystem on hda5. So either the kernel was compiled 
without support for ext3 (check the config file) or there is something wrong 
with the way hda5 is formatted.

Another thought for you: If everything is on /dev/hda5, I believe your / mount 
should be specified within your menu.lst as hd(0,4).... That's alot quicker to 
check than your kernel .config!
