Not unless you specify for x to start in them. several
distros have runlevel 3 as a multiuser cli runlevel
with networking. [ which is the way I set my own lfs
systems to work, no gui by default, specially no
graphic boot sequence, since hiding information is,
for me, a stupid idea. I also use lilo rather than
grub, since grub doesn't like text only boot
sequences. ]
