Hello,

I don't recall seeing this error before on this list... My first guess 
would be to look at your host distro; not the machine, the version of 
Linux you are using to build LFS. Have you confirmed that it meets the 
minimum requirements described in the book here: 
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/view/stable/prologue/hostreqs.html?

Oh yes, please also read the Netiquette guidlines 
(http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/#netiquette) especially about 
top-posting. You might get some people upset....
