I just checked and the version I have and it's the most recent development version of liveCD (non-SVN, it's off of the site). But I will see... although I have to start over now since I decided to install windows (need it for classes) and learned windows won't install on my drive unless to do it after linux (due to my partitioning choices) so I had to format. =..( I hate windows, but I needed VC++ 2003 for a class... Anyways, I hope you're right, any but I am still a little confused as to why this problem would not affect everyone.
