Ake, I'm not sure in your case. In my case the LiveCD came with perl-5.8.6, and I mistakenly copied the files to the wrong place (5.8.7). Once I put it back where it belonged, I could rebuild glibc from the beginning. What I can suggest to you is, rather than going back and starting all over, if you can work out and fix what happened to your perl installation in Ch5, then maybe you can just redo the glibc.
