Well, no. Kernel building is always a bit inspirational. But that kernel
was built for LFS-6.0 and it seemed a good idea to try it. Subsequent
issues made me use that kernel in LFS-5.0 (where this mail is from)
becuase I was getting stubborn resistance to useful usb from the 2.4
kernels and there was a usb mouse in the box, and besides, I needed 2.6x
running to build glibc in LFS. When I started looking I realised I was
the only one left using a 2.4x kernel

I _presumed_ they would have sorted it as it is pretty bad to have a
module winding up the hardware like that.

And while I'm moaning, development never seems to finish these days.
Gone is the sane structure of releases, alphas, and betas. Instead, it
seems to be one huge rolling project, and you have to know what a safe
version of each of the MAIN programs are before you use it (glibc, gcc,
kernels, udev, etc. etc).
