check ftp.lfs-matrix.de/pub/lfs-livecd (and maybe other lfs mirrors. There is a ppc-livecd.iso of about 100MB. So, to answer your question, yes, it is possible. (but I have to admit, I don't know the meaning of 'snap image', the live-cd is only a guess).
