While I have sucessfully compiled the LFS system, now I am facing problems during login.
login prompt comes up and does not recognize root or any user. After any inpupt, the login prompt returns back.

Although I have never experienced this, several times on this list it has been reported that issues like this will happen if your loopback device is not brought up when your system boots.
