Please treat this with the proverbial pinch of salt - my buildscripts can't build bison-3.0 on either x86_64 or i686, so it is possible that something in them is also breaking this.
But ... Trying to build i686 svn (from LFS-7.2) on a machine capable of 64-bits, gmp failed with ABI=32: command not found using ABI=32 ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-cxx Omitting ABI produced the expected failure (it tried to use ABI=64), and it now builds with - ./configure ABI=32 --prefix=/usr --enable-cxx My last 32-bit build was LFS-7.2. That worked, so I've no idea where this broke (if, indeed, it isn't just my scripts that did it). Since I now doubt my own scripts, I'm not going to change this in the book. Please treat it as an initial "might be b0rken" notice until someone else duplicates it. ĸen, thinking of giving up -- das eine Mal als Tragödie, das andere Mal als Farce -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
