I am not new to Linux from Scratch. However, a few days ago, a I started for the first time to make a clean LFS installation on a new disk. Previously, I have done it over an existing install, or used the minimum Fedora install that would boot as a starter. This meant that I was using mostly BLFS. And, I have to admit that in some cases I did have to resort to using RPMs or DEB packages for stuff not in your books or web pages that I just couldn't get to build.
So, now I am proceeding with the install of the SVN version of LFS and have made a couple of mistakes but haven't had any real problems till I got to the virtual devices. -- James Tyrer Linux (mostly) From Scratch -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
