I notice that LFS still ships the files needed for setting up "persistent net rules", but starting from systemd 197, that problem has been solved upstream.
Apparently, interfaces are now assigned a "predictable name", so they will always have the same, but not traditional, name. See here http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/systemd/PredictableNetworkInterfaceNames Either drop persistent network rules or mask udev rule that "predicts" and assigns strange network interface names.
