We can leave that till after 7.2. OK, with regrets. As a reminder to myself, or whoever eventually picks it up - I temporarily changed /etc/localtime on a desktop as the easiest way to simulate a timezone variation. Syslog and date noticed immediately. Postgresql by default used the system time, so it should be ok [ by default it doesn't log, so I didn't prove that ].
Fcron's next run (for a backup) was at the _expected_ (real) time, i.e. the number of elapsed hours since it last ran, but this is its normal behaviour - it knows nothing about future changes and can run early or late when DST changes. So for the moment I believe that just updating the timezones and recreating /etc/localtime will handle future changes, without rebooting. > > > I'd also like to add the ru_RU.UTF-8 locale for sed, with the patch > > to stop the tests failing if that is present [ instead of XFAIL when > > the locale is not present ]. > > I tried that and also KIO8. I'm puzzled - the presence of ru_RU.UTF-8 enables the four utf8 tests - actually, they also use it_IT, en_US, en_GB so the it_IT and en_GB UTF-8 variants also need to be added. But I don't understand the reference to KOI8 - I've got it installed, but it won't be used in a utf8 test. > > > The only other thing in LFS itself is the flex patch to fix the > > testsuite for recent bison - I *think* you added that ? > > Yes, yesterday. > Thanks. > > Unfortunately, my current desktop build is stuck at gudev [ just > > raised on -support ] : might be specific to me, like the automake > > tests.
