Hi,

Our hearts go out to the Benton family during this very difficult and
sad time.

Some of you guys have been working with me on LFS since its inception 13
years ago and Andy joining us 8 years ago has made him a permanent
fixture for a very long time. We have seen each other go through life's
ups and downs; marriages, birth of children, moving to other cities,
starting new careers, immigrations, leaving the LFS project to pursue
other goals and later on coming back to the LFS project... With
everything we've been through as a team, I never once paused to think
that this may come to pass as well. It took me by total surprise as it
did all of you as well I'm sure.

Bruce mentioned in his post that he didn't have the opportunity to meet
Andy in person. I think most of us haven't had the chance to meet each
other yet we all spend so much time "together". It's sometimes easy to
forget that all of us have lives outside of LFS and we don't know each
other nearly well enough. When Eddie shared a little of Andy's life it
really drove the point home. I had no idea he was educated in
Astrophysics which is something I'm working towards myself as well. I
would have loved the chance to sit down with him and talk about our
shared passion over a cup of coffee, had we only known it was a shared
passion.

Andy will be missed a great deal.
