It's a fun picture, and I'm all for a little fun in the site. I don't think it belongs on the home page, though. I really mean no personal offense, but I don't know how to say this without being blunt: The way the site currently looks (especially now with the picture and the prominent Google ads), it really looks like LFS is run by amateurs. At least, the site lacks the professional look that speaks to the quality of the work done here. The front page is the first thing that new people see and it really should speak to the fact that the editors/devs/community of LFS really care about producing a quality book. I know that this may come across as harsh, and I am sorry for that. But having spent a number of years working in and around the graphic design industry, and working in the web application development sphere - I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a site (or at least home page) that shows you care about quality/details. If the general consensus is in disagreement with me, and we're just going to leave the site like this (actually, with or without the picture), that's fine. In that case, I would just prefer that my name came out of the footer. -- JH -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
