In fact, that's the route I've been working on - I've cleaned up my last posting a bit further, and I'm working on a build now - ironically, tripped up by a jhalfs-trunk bug - remove_existing_dirs in makefile-functions has a reference to $(SRCDIR) that should be $(SRCSDIR).
