Compressing is an option but would also require some Mailman
modifications, or a helper script running through cron - the various
files that make up an archive are automatically updated each time an
email arrives (ie email contents is appended to an mbox and txt file).
We don't want to run bzip2 on the mbox or monthly txt files each time an
email arrives. The compress operation would take a while and a half
dozen more emails could arrive, making that a never ending cycle.

A nightly or weekly snapshot would be a compromise there.

In the mean time I'll send you the last two months of blfs-support to
your email address in a few minutes when I have it tar'ed up for you.
