Interesting. Thanks for that. I knew you'd have a good reason for avoiding it. But I'm still not quite sure where that leaves us with the bug you reported and the patch you are using. There seems to be a difference in thought as to how GCC should behave when run from $objdir. What do you think is likely to happen in future versions and/or what is your plan?
