One possible issue would be that there are lots of different possible DHCP clients (dhcpcd, dhclient, pump, and possibly others that I don't know about). The current BLFS development book has dhcpcd; I didn't look to see if it also has dhclient / pump / others. A workaround for that issue is to have an "alternatives to the XXX DHCP client" sub-section, just like we do on the vim page. I think that should work out fairly well, assuming there is a BLFS section on various clients that we can point to. We could also simply mention alternatives and let the user figure out how to install them, as long as the network auto-configuration code is able to handle different client packages fairly easily. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFINhHwS5vET1Wea5wRA6BcAJsGG8DkJJMa52AJpP0+LyVicsqTTwCcCE6y rl73ScFdQwfo5BVO4fALLrw= =4NIb -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
