I am all for this in all cases where LFS has/is going to/thinking about deviating from upstream. Everyone has to read the relevant thread on LFS-Trac to have an idea what is being discussed, you can find it here: http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/ticket/2057#comment:25 And after reading it, hopefully everyone will: 1. agree with it or 2. provide a better solution Not trying to make this difficult, but instead, trying to get the community to decide on something.
