There are also some issues with the correctness of the information in the 2002 slideshow. He's talking a lot about driverfs, which is gone now, and there's a slide or two that talks about /sbin/hotplug, which is also gone now. Perhaps the 2005 PDF on sysfs is best, since it's at least correct on most of the things that have been changed since 2002. Or perhaps we should just remove it. I wish I'd read the driver-model paper before, so I knew what kind of information was in it, and whether it was worth keeping (i.e. replacing it with something else).
You can still see the the paper in PostScript form. Or you can generate a PDF from the tex sources (obviously, if you have the appropriate tools). Both are contained in this tarball: http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/mochel/doc/lca/driver-model-lca2003.tar.gz However, I'll change the link to the sysfs paper. Probably is more relevant to the current setup anyway. -- Dan -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
