Hi,

I have just started going through the new 6.2-pre1 book. I noticed that in
section 2.3 "Creating a File System on the Partition" you are asked to
create an ext3 filesystem.

Following this command is a note about unsupported features in some versions
of E2fsprogs. Following the note you are asked to run a debugfs command to
check if any features are on the filesystem that will later be unsupported
in the E2fsprogs version installed in Chp9.

When I ran this command I unsurprisingly got the has_journal feature which
is not listed as one of the features that is expected in the output.

I think that this note in the book should be updated to show that the
has_journal output is expected, as it should be with an ext3 filesystem.

I know its not a huge error but I think it would be fairly easy to fix and
avoid some confusion amongst people unfamiliar with the features of ext3.

I have looked forward to the next release of LFS since installing 6.1 a
while ago, I will keep checking for any small bugs in the book as I go
through but so far so good

Good work all involved!

George
