I am ready to branch lfs-6.2-pre1. This is a last call for changes
before that is done. I plan on doing the actual commit Saturday, July
15, about 1800 CDT (2300 GMT).
Please let me know if there is anything else to do before then.
I do have one outstanding issue that I would like to discuss. Right
now, we are generating the book and {bootscripts,udev-cong} tarballs via
a script. When the tarballs are generated, the md5sum is specific to
the system/user where they are generated. I propose putting
placeholders in packages.ent like:
<!ENTITY udev-config-md5 "TBD-udev-config-md5">
<!ENTITY bootscripts-md5 "TBD-bootscripts-md5">
The script generating the book/tarballs can then do a simple sed on
packages.ent to update the xml files prior to html generation.
The drawback to this is that local generation of the html by users will
not have the proper md5sum for these tarballs. It will also require a
workaround for the jhalfs scripts as they will not be able to
automatically check the md5sum.
I am reluctant to have the script make an automatic svn commit, but that
is a possibility.
