OK, let me know when it's done and I'll remove chapters 7 and 8 from the
book then. The LFS book will be completely useless without them though,
as it obviously won't be bootable. Can someone explain to me why we
need yet another book instead of adding any missing explanatory material
to the relevant chapters in LFS?
Simply because the adequate (i.e.: with good educational value and technical
correctness) explanation of the udev topic is way too thick for the LFS book.
Also, this in-depth explanation doesn't fit for those who read the book for the
first time (it's just too much new material for newbies, like throwing a child
into an ocean and saying "now you will learn swimming". This does work
sometimes, but very rarely).
So let LFS provide known good configuration files (or even static /dev) without
much explanation, and mention this new book for those who want details about
this _advanced_ topic.
