perhaps a new book with any relative info that has to do with:

a.'Handling Devices' (udev)
b.'Boot process' (init schemes,bootscripts,bootmanager,etc)
c.'Automounting Devices'
d.'Volumes,raid etc...'
e.'Partitiong schemes,filesystems,etc'
f.'Kernel issues.'

I agree to write this:

OK, let me know when it's done and I'll remove chapters 7 and 8 from the book then. The LFS book will be completely useless without them though, as it obviously won't be bootable. Can someone explain to me why we need yet another book instead of adding any missing explanatory material to the relevant chapters in LFS?

Simply because the adequate (i.e.: with good educational value and technical correctness) explanation of the udev topic is way too thick for the LFS book. Also, this in-depth explanation doesn't fit for those who read the book for the first time (it's just too much new material for newbies, like throwing a child into an ocean and saying "now you will learn swimming". This does work sometimes, but very rarely).

So let LFS provide known good configuration files (or even static /dev) without much explanation, and mention this new book for those who want details about this _advanced_ topic.
