I never made that a firm requirement but at the time it made sense to do so. It'd allow a distinction between book editor and bootscripts maintainer. It's a different beast altogether since they are used by LFS and to a point BLFS too.

If you want to take over, that'll be fine. It just makes sense having one person keep track of the necessary changes to be made.
