Matt, I rebuilt shadow-4.0.14 using the lfs udev-branch instructions and this version reprots as follows: su: invalid option -- c Usage: su [options] [login] Options: -h, --help display this help message and exit -, -l, --login make the shell a login shell -m, -p, --preserve-environment do not reset environment variables, and keep the same shell -s, --shell SHELL use SHELL instead of the default in passwd I wonder if it's the version, I looked at the changelog and saw nothing to indicate this. Man su suggests that the error message is right and this version doesn't support -c. I'll do some more investigation later.
