This kind of "punishment" is more appropriate in a kindergarten than in
this community. Bruce and Matthew are our leaders and I respect their
decision, but I deeply disagree with them.
The emails of some are also more appropriate in kindergarten, yet they
still happen here. So if you have a better idea, share it.
When I have an issue with something someone says in an email on these
lists, I send them a private email telling them how I feel about what
they said to whomever about whatever. I sent a private email to Matt
earlier today about his email regarding the suspension. He was kind
enough to reply and I had a clear understanding of what was going on.
Some people may have me set to go into the trash, but I try to let them
know if I think something they said was inappropriate. I do not like
name calling or insults; I do not like public humiliation of anyone who
was having a bad day for any reason. Yes, some people have more than a
bad day, but even they have something to offer to the project. Even if
it is just learning how "not" to behave in public.
