Subject: problems with audio in 2.6.12.5 (SVN-20060210)
To: blfs-dev@linuxfromscratch.org

Here is the error I am getting when compiling Kernel 2.6.12.5 with
gcc-4.0.2 per the instructions in LFS-SVN-20060210:

http://pastebin.linuxfromscratch.org/?show=2168

Ok apparently this issue has arisen before. I have been given some
items to reference:

http://lkml.org/lkml/2005/9/16/29
http://archives.linuxfromscratch.org/mail-archives/blfs-support/2005-December/057888.html

I can disable sound and the kernel compiles cleanly. I am told a
debian patch fixes this issue. Are we to wait for this to be fixed
and use a different GCC version in the book, or are we going to
include the patch in the book?
