I'm trying to minimize as much as possible the freeze time involved.
That sounds like a sensible approach, and I'm happy for this to go ahead tonight.
I've not read the release notes myself, and have to pop out for the rest of the evening. So, for the benefit of all committers (and even anonymous svn users) could you, or someone else, answer the following two questions.
1) Will the 1.3 repositories be accessible with 1.2 clients (I'm sure Subversion's versioning policy says they will be, but it's better to be safe than sorry!)
2) Will users see any advantages by doing fresh checkouts of the repositories, or are all new features/speedups obtainable using existing working copies?
