I don't think you've understood the point of the discussion, Chris.

It is simply not something we can do.  Whether you think it would
be nice, or if it makes it easier to do it now instead of later,
or whatever, it is simply something we cannot do.

As has been said by everyone in the discussion except for you, it
is a task too monumental to attempt. The advantage gained-expected
return-work involved ratio is way too skewed.
