As I remember the ncurses package is the place were terminfo database
live. Are you realy not need the terminfo when you chrooted in chap. 6?

I hate more --- I prefer less instead. and for now bash use more when
completion list not fit at the screen... (or it use pager, listed in the
enviroment?). I dont know is this a right behavior (becouse this need
addition key pressing)...
