Yes, and farce 1-3.
You make a good point, and binary diffing between 1-2 or 1-3 will definitely help, and it should be known whether you can build LFS from the alphabetical system. I still believe that building Ch.6 from Ch.6 instead of the entire build is important. Possibly it is important. But that can happen once we're fairly certain that we're also building a good set of tools in chapter 5.
