At this point, just diffing the logs. I still have the binaries from each of
the builds, so if we need to I can access any of them and compare.
If you, or anybody else, have full trees of the built systems then you
might find my 'farce' scripts helpful. I've just put them at
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/~ken/farce-001-2.tar.bz2 - they aim to
help you form a view on what sort of differences exist between two
builds (things like the kernel version written into a few files, and the
date/time are the prime examples).
From time to time, I get keen on "does it build itself" reviews. The
main script seems to work on i686, and is most useful for trying out new
build orders - an earlier version found a problem in cross-lfs, so it
will (hopefully) pick out the sort of autom4te issue that Chris has
already found.
I was going to release these scripts a few weeks ago, but issues in my
x86_64-64 results caused me to put them aside. Looks as if they might
be useful for lfs-svn, so play with them if you wish.
