I agree that xorg is a BLFS support issue and that deals with case 2.
Case 1 is a bit like /usr/man link to /usr/share/man, which is a LFS cross
issue.
That's why I posted it here.
Should be fixed by building X.org with the correct #defines. AFAIK,
only X is affected - nothing else should need /usr/lib64 on a pure64
system. No doubt there are some minority applications out there that
also think x86_64 must use /usr/lib64, patch them if you come across
them.
