I've just tested it here and it's working for me. I'm as baffled as I've no doubt you will be Randy! That said, I've now got a 157K patch that brings us back in line with debian's version of flex (code changes only - it's nearly 2M in total). Maybe it's worth using that in LFS, to avoid any potential problems that flex may cause us?
